Those three words sum up my summer break from school and Barry’s Bloomin’ Run! But I’m happy about it and excited about the road trip element if not so much the watching Barry suffer bit…

Booking: travel and accommodation. Hurrah for nice Chris at  the Gatwick Crawley Town West Premier Inn who gave us a good deal when she heard about the run and is helping us out with motor home parking too 🙂

And! Annie at Les Chambres du Lac who has been really helpful with arrival times, parking and providing baths and whatever else I’ve asked her for… It looks lovely too. When Barry and I realised that this place was a bit ahead of Neuf-Marche and a bit back from Saint Saens we decided we could do 2 nights. So we are 🙂

When enquiring about staying I asked each place; Can we have a bath in one of the rooms or access to one? Can we park two vans (can 2 people stay overnight in one of the van?s)? Can we check-in early? Can we have a REALLY early breakfast and can you give us a special deal?  After I was told ‘pas un hasard’ (not a chance!) from a few people I decided to limit my questions to the bath, parking and check-in times… The rest will have to be negotiated at another time!

Blisters: Barry claims never to have had one, this makes me all the more certain he will et them on the run. I have become obsessed with blister plasters and have even contacted a well known producer of such plaster for some possible freebies or sponsorship! That company will remain nameless (for now) because they have ignored me thus far!

I have contacted nearly 50 people including radio stations, press offices and big companies asking for them to promote or sponsor the run. HUGE thank you to Alan Taylor from Southern Sound hospital radio in Scotland who got back to me straight away about supporting us. THANK YOU ALAN!

I am now a fully fledged first aider thanks to St John Ambulance so everyone can sigh with relief, the runners will be in safe, qualified hands!!
