Lorraine

Lorraine HosieHi, I’m Lorraine – the day six runner.

I’ve known Barry for 20 years, and he’s the only person I’ve ever met who a) would ever be stubborn and determined enough to take on this challenge, and b) be persuasive enough to convince me to join him!

I’ve blogged here about the night he talked me into it. That was Christmas 2012, and I’m so glad to be part of this now. Very sadly, Barry’s mum won’t get to see him complete the MegaMarathon, but his friends and other family will, and we are all in awe of him.

I’ve only been running for a few years, mainly doing 10kms. I have run half marathon distances a couple of times, but this will be my first marathon. Being the day six runner is scary stuff – if something goes wrong I risk letting Barry (and the whole team) down, but I am determined that won’t happen.

So please wish me luck, and – even better – drop us a wee donation. The support and generosity so far has been amazing.

Thank you – you’ll all be with us every step of the way.

Lorraine I am so excited and nervous about it all and I’m just a sideline mum!! I am also so impressed –but to be honest I am just as impressed by the commitment from all you folk in the team to support Barry by running a marathon with him ! What a great thing to do for a pal!
